Jackson Trap (Paper Board)
Jackson Trap (Paper Board)
The Jackson Trap (Paper Board) is a cost-effective insect pest surveillance trap designed for male fruit fly detection, with proven field use in programs targeting the Mediterranean fruit fly (Ceratitis capitata).
Its lightweight paperboard construction makes it suitable for large-scale deployment in surveillance programs where efficiency, simplicity, and affordability are key operational considerations.

Design & Capture System
The trap is designed to operate with a replaceable sticky-coated insert, which captures insects attracted to the male lure.
Sticky inserts are ordered separately and can be easily slid out and replaced once they become filled with insects, allowing the trap body to remain in service while maintaining reliable capture conditions.
This design supports routine inspection and efficient servicing in the field without the need to replace the entire trap.
Applications
The Jackson Trap (Paper Board) is widely used in fruit fly surveillance programs, particularly in agricultural and regulatory settings where early detection of male populations is required to support field surveillance, delimitation, and decision-making.
Compatible Components
The trap is compatible with standard Jackson Trap accessories, including sticky inserts, male lures, and hanging components, allowing it to be adapted to different program requirements.
